When we look towards the object with the working machinations of reason, we primarily get science, technology.
But even in this process, we have to continuously delve into the subject. For imagination, inspiration, insight, vision, etc., to continually provide the creative substance for those machinations.
But what happens if we put aside the object, turn towards the subject, or turn the subject towards.
The thought being that schizophrenics see some expression of their subconscious mind, manifested as sight and hearings to the conscious mind.
But what happens when the workings of the subconscious become so intensely manifested to the conscious mind.
This imagination, inspiration, insight, vision, creativity, etc. becomes a resident dwelling place. Almost the opposite of a scientist obsessed with objective reality (not that they all are or even most) so that subjective reality takes on its own existence, and has a voice, and a place.
But why is important for people to relate to the subconscious in this fashion?
What does it mean for the inner world to speak, as it’s not clear entirely how it can without the schizophrenic to give it voice.
We can talk about it in metaphor, or communicate it in art or music, but only in the schizophrenic is it able to speak directly and be heard.
If not a source of creativity or inspiration in itself, the schizophrenic’s voice, elevates subjective experience to the place of words and language, gives it its own formal presence in existence.
